Congress holds strong protest demonstration in Jammu against minority killings

Congress today held a strong protest demonstration in Jammu against the selective killing of Rahul Bhat and other targeted killings in Kashmir, for the past quite some time and criticized the Govt. for its failure to check such killings of innocents. A strong protest demonstration was held at Shahidi Chowk Jammu condemning Pakistan and terrorism and denouncing Centre Govt. for its failure to stop targeted killings of innocents, especially Kashmiri Pandits and other minorities and outsiders in Kashmir day in & day out.The protestors raised strong slogans against Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism and criticized BJP led NDA Govt. for failure to check rising incidents of targeted killings of innocents in Kashmir, especially Kashmiri migrants and others, during the past more than one year which is not only continuing but rising day in and day out and now Rahul Bhat killed inside tehsil office.

The protestors were joined by Kashmiri migrants too, who criticized the hollow slogans of BJP led Centre Govt. in ensuring the protection of Kashmiri migrants and other minorities in Kashmir.

The peaceful protest demonstration led by working President Shri Raman Bhalla, General Secretary and DCC Jammu Urban President Yogesh Sawhney, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, General Secretary Th. Manmohan Singh, EX-MLC Ved Mahajan, S. Gajan Singh and other Senior PCC & DCC leaders including Shadi Lal Pandita, Rajvir Singh, Kapil Singh, Sahil Sharma, besides Dr. R.K. Khajuria, Amrit Bali, Satish Sharma,, Pawandev Singh, Sonu Dogra, Atul Sharma, Jatin Vashisht, Rahul Tandan, Sdr. H.S. Bagi and others were stopped from marching ahead towards the Raghunath Bazar-Purani Mandi to Raj Bhawan. A strong contingent of police forces stopped the protestors forcibly and had tough time to control the agitated protestors.Addressing media persons Shri Bhalla strongly condemned the barbaric killing of Mr. Rahul Bhat a migrant employee and questioned how inside the high security tehsil complex in Chadura, Budgam, a selective killing has taken place under the nose of the Govt. and said the Centre Govt. has totally failed to protect the minorities in Kashmir and other innocents, as the targeted killings have started in past over one and half years, which are increasing day by day but Centre has failed stop it.Bhalla strongly lashed out at the BJP Govt. at the Centre and UT administration for making false rhetoric’s every day in media, claiming complete normalcy in Kashmir, while innocents are getting martyred every day. They should wake up and rise to the situation to ensure the safety of innocents including minorities in Kashmir. He demanded that Centre should ensure the safety and security of innocents in Kashmir especially minorities in Kashmir and outside workers without further delay. Chief Spokesperson Mr. Ravinder Sharma termed the targetting killings of innocents especially minorities, a serious threat and nefarious design of Pakistan and terrorists and demanded the Centre take an immediate call to ensure safety of innocents in Kashmir.

Shri Yogesh Sawhney strongly lashed out the BJP and Centre for false claims of total normalcy and asked Centre Govt. to wake up and stop innocent killings of Kashmiri Pandits and others immediately. He criticized the Lt. Governor administration for resorting to strong lathicharge upon fear struck migrant employees instead of listening their grievances.

Th. Manmohan Singh also strongly condemned innocent killings and demanded fool proof security to innocent citizens in Kashmir Valley by the Centre and UT administration.The protestors demanded adequate step to ensure the sense of security and protection of minorities and others including outsiders working there and innocent becoming target of selective killings of terrorists.
